Fernando González Martínez

Bachelor (1980) in Chemical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, and Doctor in Chemical Sciences from the University of Oviedo (1988), he was a FPI Fellow (1982-1986). He joined the University of Cantabria as an Assistant in 1987, where he is currently teaching and researching. His research is carried out within the Research Group "Inorganic Chemistry" of the University of Cantabria, for which I am currently responsible. Recently (2015) I have joined the inter-institutional and multidisciplinary research group, “Nanomedicine”, between the University of Cantabria (UC) and the Valdecilla Research Institute (IDIVAL). His research work focuses on lines related to new materials, in the field of adsorption, catalysis, nanomaterials, non-crystalline oxides. In the development of its synthesis, characterization and application. In order to carry out the aforementioned work, he has participated in 17 National Projects in the field of Materials Science, 2 National Project of the Carlos III Health Institute, 8 Regional Projects, 1 Project FEDER and 1 Project by the University of Cantabria. In addition, I have participated in five non-competitive projects with companies or institutions. He has been principal investigator (IP) in six of the National Plan projects. He is author / co-author in more than 87 publications with SCI impact factor of which 47 are in the first quartile (Q1) of its corresponding category in the JCR. He has participated in more than 100 communications in Congresses, most of them international. Has a H-index of 26 and i10-index of 49 (Scopus).
