Cristina Duarte Olivenza is pDH student (temporary contract) in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology of the University of Cantabria. His research activity focuses on the analysis of factors that determine the differentiation of mesenchymal progenitor cells in skeletal connective tissues, including the analysis of their diversification to form cartilage and tendons, or towards programmed cell death processes to sculpt the definitive shape of the elements. skeletal. Prior to this contract, I have had a research contract at the University of Oviedo, in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, to study the behavior of different tumor cell lines against possible antitumor compounds. In this way, the antitumor effect of melatonin and other chemical compounds has been studied, and the combination of them in tumor cells. An additional aspect, I have enjoyed a stay abroad of 6 months to expand my knowledge.
