Dr. Carmen Hinojo is a medical oncologist with advanced training and specialization in breast and hereditary cancers. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma (2015/2016) and a Master’s Degree (2016–2018) in Medical Oncology, both certified by the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM), and has also earned SEOM’s Accreditation of Excellence in Genetic Counseling for Hereditary Cancer. Since 2011 she is a member of the Medical Oncology staff at the Medical Oncology Department of Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla (Santander, Spain). She actively participates in the development of clinical protocols for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of breast cancer and hereditary cancers. Dr. Carmen Hinojo serves as principal investigator in clinical trials focused on breast cancer and has been an active member of SEOM since 2013, contributing to its Hereditary Cancer (2013-currently) and Prevention and Diagnosis (2015-currently) Sections, ESMO since 2020. She is also a member of the Spanish Breast Cancer Research Group (GEICAM) since 2017, being part of the luminal disease group collaborating in the design and evaluation of clinical trials. It is also part of SOLTI, a leading cooperative group in the field of clinical cancer research.
