Roberto Zarrabeitia, MD., PhD. (University of Cantabria. Spain). Coordinator of the Hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) Unit in Hospital Sierrallana (Cantabrian Health Service) since 2002. Member of group 707 of CIBERER (Rare Diseases Networking Biomedical Research Centre of Spain) and coordinator of the HHT Study group (associated clinical group to IDIVAL since 2006). Member of the HHT Spanish Association Committee from 2002 to 2015. Organizer of the 8th HHT International  Conference in Santander (2009).  Research collaborator in several projects concerning molecular basis of the HHT and development of pharmacological therapies for the condition, conducted from the Biological Research Centre (CSIC) in Madrid by Professors Luisa Botella and Carmelo Bernabeu. Member of the research team that achieves Orphan Drug Designation for raloxifene (European Medicines Agency (Committee for Orphan Medicinal Products). EMEA/OD/138/09 London, February 2010. EU 3/10/730; Food and Drug Administration (FDA/USA) (10-3099) August 2010) and bacedoxifene (EMA/COMP/531030/2014). Author of several articles and communications to conferences mostly related with HHT. Robert I White Young Clinician of the Year Award 2007 (Robert I White Jr. Young Clinician of the Year Award 2007 (HHT Internacional Foundation.Monkton. Maryland. USA). Member of the panel of experts that elaborated the HHT International Guidelines (Toronto, Canada. 2006) and collaborator in the redaction of the national clinical guidelines for the management of liver vascular diseases (Barcelona, 2006).Assistant Professor of Physiology for Physiotherapy and Logopedia grades in Gimbernat University School (associated to the University of Cantabria) since 2015.
