César González-Blanch works as a clinical psychologist at the University Hospital Marqués de Valdecilla. He is associate professor of Psychological Interventions in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the European University of the Atlantic (Santander, Spain), and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne (Australia). His clinical and research interests lie in early intervention approaches for people with first episode of psychosis, particularly neurocognitive and psychosocial aspects of the disorder, and on the application of psychological treatments in diverse populations. He has published extensively on these areas, including a jointly authored book titled "Prevention of Antipsychotic-Induced Weight Gain in Young People with Psychosis: A Multimodal Psychological Intervention". He is an associate investigator of the Horyzons project at the Orygen Youth Health Research Center of the University of Melbourne (Australia), a pioneering project for the use of online social media to foster long-term recovery in young people after a first episode of psychosis. He is the principal investigator in Cantabria of the multicentre PsicAP study on psychological treatment of emotional disorders in primary care. Dr. González-Blanch is member of several editorial boards. Since 2009, he serves as a President of the National Association of Clinical Psychologist and Residents (ANPIR), the largest association of clinical psychologists in Spain.
