Currículum vitae

Felix Campos Juanatey is an attending urologist in the Urology Department at the Marques de Valdecilla University Hospital (HUMV) since 2015. He got his Medical Degree at the Santiago de Compostela University Medical School in 2007 and completed his Residency Program at Marques de Valdecilla University Hospital. During his training in Urology, Dr. Campos Juanatey followed observership programs at Indisa Clinic and Hospital del Trabajador in Santiago de Chile (2011), Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York (2012) and Doce de Octubre University Hospital in Madrid (2013). Once finished his Residency Program in Urology, Dr. Campos Juanatey obtained the Diploma FEBU (Fellow of the European Board of Urology) and completed a clinical fellowship in Reconstructive Urology at University College London Hospitals, in London (2014-2015). Dr. Campos Juanatey got a Diploma of Research Capacity at the Medicine and Surgery Department at Cantabria University Medical School, and also a Postgraduate Degree in Design and Statistics on Health Sciences at Barcelona University from 2011-2013. Dr. Campos Juanatey has received several awards during his career: Best Urological Communication presented at "X Spanish Society of Laparoscopic Surgery National Congress" in May 2011 in Vigo; First Prize "Daniel Garcia Palomo" as Best Medical Resident finishing the Residency Program at the University Hospital Marques de Valdecilla during 2013; Academic Excellence Certificate and Excellent Case Presentation at ESU/Weill Cornell Seminar ESU Master Class in Urology in July 2014 in Salzburg; Best Video Presentation at the 1st Joint Meeting of EAU Section of Genito-Urinary Reconstructive Surgeons (ESGURS) and EAU Section of Pediatric Urology (ESPU) in November 2014 in Ghent (Belgium) and finally, Best Video Presentation in the 8th Meeting of the EAU Section of Genito-Urinary Reconstructive Surgeons (ESGURS) in November 2016 in Madrid. Since 2011, he is member of the EAU (European Association of Urology) and of the AEU (Spanish Association of Urology). He is also a member of the CRU (Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery) Group of AEU since 2015. Dr. Campos Juanatey research scope and programs are: Maintaining a nationwide prospective database on urethral stricture repairs using oral grafts; developing hands-on training programs on cadaveric model on urethroplasty, penile prosthesis and artificial urinary sphincter implantation; assessment of long-term follow-up of hypospadias repair in childhood; and evaluation of aetiological diagnosis and treatment of acute urinary retention using a portable flexible cystoscopy. A comparative trial between urethral ultrasonography vs. urethrogram is soon to be started. He is author or co-author of 16 articles published indexed in Pubmed and of 24 international presentations.
