Currículum vitae

Dr. Patricia Maiso is the responsible of preclinical studies in the Hematology Research group at the IDIVAL Biomedical Research Institute in Santander (Cantabria-Spain). She graduated in Biochemistry and Biology from University of Navarra and completed her Ph.D in Biochemistry at the Centro de Investigación del Cáncer (CIC) in Salamanca. She has been postdoctoral scientist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She has received several competitive fellowships, including: Fulbright Fellowship, European Hematology Association (EHA)-Young Investigator Award, Marie Curie Fellowship and Miguel Servet Program. She has worked in the field of Multiple Myeloma for more than 15 years and has published more than 45 original papers in international journals. She has participated in multiple national and international competitive projects. Her main areas of interest are the study of the biology of multiple myeloma (MM) and the mechanisms that cause drug resistance, the development of novel antitumoral drugs at the preclinical phase, and the role of the bone microenvironment in the pathophysiology and therapeutic response in MM.
