Miguel Santibáñez Margüello, M.D., Ph.D., is a Full Professor in the Department of Nursing at the University of Cantabria (UC). He holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and Health Services Management, a Master’s degree in Research Methodology in Health Sciences, and a diploma in Public Health. He is a specialist in Occupational Medicine and a senior technician in Occupational Risk Prevention in all three specialties (safety, hygiene, and ergonomics). After serving as head of the Occupational Health and Epidemiology Units for Health Areas 19 and 20 in the Valencian Community (2003–2010) and earning his Ph.D. at Miguel Hernández University of Elche with Extraordinary Doctorate Award, he became responsible for the training units and methodological and biostatistical support at the Marqués de Valdecilla Research Institute. He was also a member of the methodology department and the biostatistics and data management department at the national level for the Spanish Clinical Trials Platform (CAIBER) (2010–2012). At this time, he began his career as an Associate Professor at UC. He currently leads the R&D&I research group “Global Health”, which, alongside its own lines of work in environmental and occupational health—particularly in the field of respiratory diseases—aims to support the academic, clinical, and practical needs of healthcare professionals and health-related institutions. He has authored more than 90 high-impact publications, supervised 13 doctoral theses, and continuously participates in various national and international R&D&I research projects. In addition to his teaching and research work, he has held several management positions, including Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Quality Policy. ORCID ID: [orcid.org/0000-0003-2634-615x].
