Education: 1996 Medicine and Psychiatry, University of Navarra, Spain 2001 Neurology Specialist, University Hospital Marqués de Valdecilla, Santander, Spain 2003 PhD Medicine, University of Cantabria, Spain Career Profile: Jon Infante is Associate Professor of Neurology at the Department of Medicine and Psychiatry from the University of Cantabria, since 2005. He is a clinical neurologist working at the and Neurology Department in the University Hospital Marqués de Valdecilla (Santander, Spain) since 2001 with a position of Head of Section since 2016. He´s also been the Tutor of neurologists in training between 2003 and 2016. Dr. Infante has an H-Index of 25 having published over 140 peer-reviewed articles. Research Interests: Dr. Infante´s current research interests include the study of biomarkers of LRRK2 G2019S-associated Parkinson's disease, movement disorders, genetic epidemiology of neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, and the natural history and clinical-genetic correlations in autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxias. Moreover, his group is also focused in the study of the pathophysiology of acquired and hereditary neuropathies (Guillain-Barré syndrome and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease), the study of biomarkers of early Alzheimer's disease, and prion diseases. Dr. Infante's research group consists of 9 clinical neurologists, 1 neurophysiologist, 1 radiologist, 1 neuropsychologist, 2 PhD students, 1 postdoctoral researcher, 1 nurse and 1 lab technician. Dr. Infante is a member of the Spanish Neurological Society, the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society and the Ataxia Study Group (www.ataxia-study-group.net/).
