Noelia Ruiz Alonso

Biotechnologist graduated from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 2021, holding a Master’s Degree in Research in Cell and Molecular Biology and Genetics obtained in 2022 from the University of Valencia (UV). Specialized in human health, she has experience in both basic and translational research. Since 2023, she works as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Infectious Diseases Service at Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital, with her position funded by the European Joint Action against Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-Associated Infections (EU-JAMRAI 2). She combines the management of observational studies and clinical trials with active research work, focusing particularly on HIV infection, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and cardiovascular infections. She is currently pursuing her PhD on the impact of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) on the gut microbiome and the acquisition of STIs. She is a member of the Spanish Society of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology (SEIMC).
