Born in Asturias and licensed in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Oviedo and Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cantabria. She works as section chief in the pathological anatomy service in Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital of Santander and as a Pathology specialist with special dedication to digestive system pathology. Coordinator of the Immunohistochemistry Pathology Section and she works as a service quality coordinator. Author of 130 communications to national and international congresses. Author of 110 international publications and director of 1 doctoral thesis. Researcher in 9 projects. Research lines, among others, on colon and rectal tumors, study of histological and immunohistochemistry biomarkers in carcinomas. Teacher in courses for technicians, students and pathologists. Participant in the digestive tumors working group in the development of Online Oncology of the Cantabrian Health Service. Participant in clinical commissions of the hospital. Corresponding Academic of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Cantabria.
