Laboratory Specialist Technician with an extensive professional career in the field of biomedical research and public health, with over 25 years of experience in prestigious institutions such as Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital, the Cantabrian Health Service, and the University of Cantabria. Since 2005, she has been working as a Research Support Technician at the "Fundación Instituto de Investigación Marqués de Valdecilla" (IDIVAL) , within the Cellular Signaling and Therapeutic Targets in Cancer research group. In 2021, she secured a permanent position as a tenured staff member at IDIVAL. She holds an official qualification as a Laboratory Specialist Technician (1990) and has complemented her professional development with more than twenty continuing education courses in key areas such as clinical genetics, cytology, immunology, flow cytometry, microbiology, clinical analysis, healthcare quality, and laboratory safety. She has actively participated in numerous I+D+i projects funded by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III , contributing to the advancement of knowledge in fields such as cancer molecular biology, chronic inflammatory diseases, and genetics applied to pathologies like Alzheimer’s disease and glioblastoma. She has been part of thematic cooperative cancer research networks (RETICC) for more than a decade. Her scientific output includes at least 20 articles published in high-impact international journals such as Frontiers in Oncology, Scientific Reports, Journal of Immunology, and Journal of Biological Chemistry, addressing topics such as transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, cellular signaling, and genetic mechanisms involved in neurodegenerative and oncological diseases. In addition, she has presented work at international conferences, including the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience in molecular biology and cell culture techniques, including DNA, RNA, and protein extraction; quantitative real-time and conventional PCR; Western blotting; sequencing techniques; immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence; luciferase assays; primary culture establishment; maintenance and cryopreservation of cell lines; and various cell transfection methods. She has also carried out responsibilities related to laboratory management and training of technical and research staff.
