Roberto Ballestero Diego works as urologist in the Marques de Valdecilla University Hospital and also serves as collaborating honorary professor in Cantabria University. He received his degree in Medicine in the University of Cantabria. 1995-2001. He became specialist in Urology in Marqués de Valdecilla Hospital. 2008. He got the fellow of the European Board of Urology in 2015. In his department, he is part of the units of Urolithiasis and prostate and muscle-invasive bladder cancer units. He is author and co-author of 8 chapters in books related to Urology. He is also author and coathor of 45 papers in journal of Urology and more than 200 presentations in urological meetings. He has participated as speaker in more than 25 urologic events. He has participated as investigator or co-investigator in 13 clinical trials. He has an active role in surgical education. He received the degree as educator by Center for medical simulation (Harvard University) 2011 He is member of the Medical Teaching Support Unit (dependent on the teaching commission) of the Marqués de Valdecilla Hospital since its creation in June 2018. He is professor in the official master’s degree in advanced minimal urological invasion surgery during the courses 2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 (CMIURO) Cáceres. He is also professor in the online master's degree in Update in urological surgery during the 2017/2018, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 academic year. Cardenal Herrera Oria University. He is director of the urological laparoscopy, robotics and endourology courses at the Valdecilla Virtual Hospital simulation center since 2008. He is Surgical director of the Hospital Virtual Valdecilla for American College of Surgeons.
