Dr. Suberviola gained his Medical Degree at the University of the Basque Country in 2001 and completed the specialty in Intensive Care Medicine and Resuscitation at the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital in Santander (2002-2007). He got his PhD Degree at the University of Cantabria in 2010. At present, Dr. Suberviola is an assistant physician in the Intensive Care Medicine Unit at the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital in Santander and his research focuses on the field of infections in critically ill patients. In this field, he has 52 indexed publications in Pubmed with an H index of 14. He has published in journals as Critical Care Medicine (2010), Intensive Care Medicine (2013), Annals of intensive Care (2017) and Plos One 2017. He has participated as principal investigator in 2 competitive projects and in 4 projects as collaborator researcher. He gained the Medicine Resident Award from the Biomedical Research Institute (IDIVAL) in 2007. He has been a principal investigator in 5 clinical trials in the last 4 years. Dr. Suberviola got other recognitions as Brahms Award organized by the Spanish Society of Intensive Care Medicine to the best research project in infectious disease (2010) and the Award for Quality Improvement in Assisted Living by the Ministry of Health of the Government of Cantabria (2009).
