Currículum vitae

Manuel Delgado Alvarado is a neurologist in the University Hospital Sierrallana, Cantabria. He obtained his MD in the University of Cantabria in 2007 and completed his neurologist training at University Hospital Marqués de Valdecilla in 2012. He earned several predoctoral grants, including a predoctoral grant of the Basque Country and a Rio Hortega. He obtained a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of the Basque Country in 2017 with his dissertation in biomarkers for Parkinson's disease and associated cognitive impairment. His main areas of research are neurodegenerative disorders, particularly biomarkers and imaging of Parkinson's disease as well as other neurological and psychiatric disorders. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has collaborated in several national-funded projects and has led a project in non-pharmacological therapies of freezing of gait in Parkinson's disease. He is a professor of Neurophysiology at Gimbernat University.
