Rebeca Abajas Bustillo

Rebeca Abajas received her International Ph.D. degree in Health Science from the University of Cantabria (Spain), in 2016, being her doctoral research focused on Injury Scaling and Injury Severity. She is Specialist on AIS (Abbreviated Injury Scale) and a member of the AIS International Certification Board. She also got her Master Degree on Research by Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) in 2008 and her Nurse Degree by University of Cantabria (Spain) in 1998. She is an Associate Professor (L.O.U.) in the Nursing Department, at University of Cantabria (Spain) since March 2006 as well as nurse on extrahospitalary emergency for more than 17 years. Her research interests include Injury Prevention, Injury Scaling, Emergency Medicine, Chronicity in adults, Nutrition, Teaching innovation and Skills, Competence and Evaluation through Simulation. Her scientific contribution includes 7 publications and 4 books collaborations. She has been involved in some research projects funded by Mapfre Foundation, Health Ministry, Traffic General Direction, IFIMAV and she has been lead author and winner of the "VII Prize of Research in Nursing Sor Clara" in 2009. Her teaching duties include undergraduate teaching as well as postgraduate teaching including coordination of Master's degree in emergency nursing at University of Cantabria and management of University expert in emergency at University of Cantabria.
