Francisco José Amo Setién

Francisco José Amo Setién obtained his PhD in health sciences from the University of Cantabria. He holds an inter-university Master's degree in "Genetic, nutritional and environmental conditioning factors of growth and development" by the University of Cantabria; Nursing Degree at the same University. Certificate in Advance English (CAE; C1), Cambridge. He has research experience in the field of obesity in children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities with two articles in journals in the first quartile of their subject category in JCR and a total of 13 International communications and national conferences (published in supplements with ISSN = 8). Lines of investigation: Prevalence of obesity in children and adolescents with intellectual disability in Cantabria. Keywords: obesity; intellectual disability; children; epidemiology. Main objective: to determine the prevalence of child and adolescent obesity in people with intellectual disabilities belonging to special education centers in Cantabria. Identifying factors associated with overweight and obesity in children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities in special education centers in Cantabria. Francisco José is a full-time assistant professor in the area of community health in the nursing department of the University of Cantabria. He is a member of the research committee of the nursing department and member of the faculty of the University of Cantabria. University teaching: 55 ECTS taught (EEES). Furthermore, he is responsible professor of the subject "Community Health Care" since 2014/2015, imparted in English as part of the Nursing degree. He has a good evaluation of teaching (4.1 out of 5.0) in the period 2014-2016, based on the evaluation surveys carried out by the students and established by the vice-rectorate of academic organization of the University of Cantabria. He is also professor in the Master's degree in Health Care Research in the subject Documentation and Information Bases since 2014/2015. Work experience as a nurse in the public health services and Spanish Red Cross.
