Víctor M. Mora Cuesta has a degree in Medicine from the University of Cantabria (2010) and developed his specialty in Pneumology between 2011-2015 at the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital, a center where he has worked as a pulmonologist since 2015 in the area of lung transplantation, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary hypertension and bronchiectasis. In addition, responsible for conducting cardiopulmonary exercise tests. It should be noted that the Lung Transplant Unit of the Pneumology Department of the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital is one of the only 7 national centers that are reference center for lung transplantation, as well as one of the 9 national reference centers for interstitial diseases accredited by SEPAR (Spanish Society of Respiratory Medicine), as a specialized multidisciplinary unit of high complexity. His profile is eminently clinical, with an intense medical assistance activity, for which he has extensive experience in caring for patients with lung transplantation, and therefore aware of the clinical needs to improve the care of these patients. In addition, he is fully knowledgeable about the scientific method, currently being a doctoral student at the University of Cantabria, and with experience in the development of research projects with numerous communications to national and international congresses, as well as publication of scientific articles. In addition, he has a certain research career with participation in multiple clinical trials of drugs in the field of interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary hypertension, and lung transplantation, as well as having been the principal investigator of the Next-Val project "Biomarkers of interstitial lung disease: Implication of IL-6. Genetic and functional study” during the 2018-2020 period as part of the research group on Genetic Epidemiology and Arteriosclerosis of Systemic Diseases and Metabolic Bone Diseases of the Locomotor System of IDIVAL. As a result of this project, results have been communicated to different national and international congresses and has led to the development of scientific articles. In addition to his assistance and research activity, he is the tutor of Pneumology residents at the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital, a member of the Teaching Committee of the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital, quality manager of the Lung Transplant program at the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital and secretary SOCALPAR (Castilla y León and Cantabrian Society of Pathology of the Respiratory System)
