Claudia González-Rico, degree in Biology from the University of Oviedo, is contracted as a pre-doctoral researcher by the Spanish Network for Research in Infectious Diseases (REIPI) of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) within the research group "Epidemiology and Pathogenic and Molecular Mechanisms of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology" of the Marqués de Valdecilla Research Institute (IDIVAL), led by Dr. M. Carmen Fariñas Álvarez, head of the Infectious Diseases Service of the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital (HUMV). Since 2013, she has participated in the main research lines of the group, which focus on the study of antimicrobial resistance and the study of infectious diseases, especially in immunocompromised patients. In addition, she coordinates, monitors and implements various observational studies and clinical trials in collaboration with other departments of the hospital itself and with other hospitals in Spain. She is a member of the Spanish Society of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology (SEIMC) and the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID).
