Óscar Muñiz Pello

Oscar M Pello. He received a B.Sc. on Biochemistry from the Oviedo University in 2001 and a PhD in OncoInmunology from CNB-CSIC in 2006. He was awarded the Outstanding PhD Award from Universidad Complutense de Madrid year 2006/07. He performed postdoctoral fellowships at Theleton Institute for Gene Therapy (Milan 2007/08) and Humanitas Research Institute (Milan 2008/10). In 2010 he returned back to the CNIC, Spain with a Juan de la Cierva contract and as a PI of a Marie Curie Integration Grant. In 2013 he moved to UCL, London as a Senior Scientist under the UCL-Research excellence Framework 2013. By the end of 2013 he obtained the distinction of fellow (maximum category of the UK Institute of Biomedical Sciences) and the accreditation from the Health and Care Profesional Council (HCPC-UK) to work as a Biomedical Scientist in a clinical setting and he moves to the HSCT processing and Cell Therapy unit at Hammersmith Imperial NHS London. In 2018 he started as a TPH processing manager and Cell Therapy Technical Director at the Banco de Sangre y Tejidos de Cantabria. He has published over 30 peer-review articles with and has a H-index of 17. He is also a JACIE inspector, the Europe´s only official accreditation body in the field fo haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and cellular therapy. He is also an active member of several research and clinical associations such as European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT), JACIE Quality group, Grupo Español de Transplante Hematopoyético y Terapia Celular (GETH) or Asociación Española de Investigación sobre el cancer (ASEICA).
