Jorge Madera Fernández

Jorge Madera Fernández (MD) is a neurologist at the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital in Santander. He obtained the Degree in Medicine at the Universidad de Oviedo (2010-2016) and developed later his training as a resident at the Marqués de Valdecilla Hospital (2017-2021), within which he completed an external stay at the Centre d'Esclerosi Múltiple de Catalunya (CEMCAT) focused on demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system. He has also completed a Master’s Degree in Neuroinmunology (2022) at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and a University Expert in Epilepsy at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (2022). He is currently a PhD student at the Universidad de Cantabria, focused on the field of cluster headache. During his training period, and later as healthcare assistant, he has carried out his research work in the field of multiple sclerosis and headaches. In addition, he actively collaborates in migraine and cluster headache clinical trials that are being developed in his department. He is the author of more than 50 posters and oral communications in the field of headaches and other neurological diseases as well as the author/co-author of several articles in indexed journals.
