Education: 2000 BSc Medicine, University of Cantabria, Santander, Spain 2015 PhD Medicine, University of Cantabria, Santander, Spain Career Profile: Lucrecia Yáñez San Segundo graduated from the Medical school of the University of Cantabria in 2000. In 2015 she did her doctoral thesis in the field of stem cell transplant, evaluating the changes of infectious complications in allogeneic stem cell transplant since the beginning 2000. She performed her internship in the Hematology Department at the Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla in Santander, from 2001 to 2005. Between July 2005 and December 2005 she was a visiting fellow at the Molecular Pathology Department, Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas (CNIO), Madrid, Spain. During these months, she learnt molecular aspects of the biology of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Since February 2006 she works as consultant in the Hematology Department, Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla, Santander, Spain, focused in Stem Cell Transplant, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Aplastic Anemia. In January 2007 she became assistant professor at the University of Cantabria Research Interests: Dr. Yáñez´s current research interests include the allogeneic stem cell transplant and its complications, mainly bacterial and fungal infections. In this setting, she is also interested in the CAR-T cell therapy and shortly she will spend several months at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA. Dr. Yáñez is also focused on the treatment of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, participating in several international clinical trials, and understanding its biology working together with Dr. Pipaón. She is also interested in the role of allogeneic stem cell transplant in aplastic anemia in older patients. Working groups: Currently, Dr. Yáñez is member of the Spainsh Society of Hemathology and Hemostasis (SEHH) and the European Group of Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT). She also works in the executive committee of the Spanish Group of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (GELLC) and the Spanish Group of Stem Cell Transplant (GETH) as coordinator of the aplastic anemia and autoimmune diseases group.
