MSc. Paloma Barreda obtained a degree in Biology in 1999 from UPV/EHU (Vasque Country University, Spain). She is currently pursuing a PhD in Medicine and Health Science at UC University of Cantabria, Spain. Among her academic training, it is also remarkable that she pursued other post-graduated studies in Clinical Research Project Management at UNIR International University of La Rioja, Spain (2019) and Master in Occupational Risk Prevention (Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics and Applied Psychosociology (2009) and Occupational Risk (2008). She started her professional activity as a Clinical Research Associate in different CROs for Pharma Multinational Companies as Aventis. Later, as Sales representative in Thermo Fischer Clinical Diagnostics. Currently, since 2011 she is Research Coordinator and Investigation Technician at the Transplant and Autoimmunity research group IDIVAL (Research Institute Marqués de Valdecilla) in collaboration with REDinREN (Red de Investigación de Enfermedades Renales from the Health Institute Carlos III- Spain). In her career background, we highlight her enormous ability to coordinate clinical trials (phase II-IV) with private promoters and academic entities. Among her skills in clinical investigation project management; protocol design, trial management, trial budget, monitoring and data management, IP management and pharmacovigilance. Currently, she is participating in several clinical trials phase II, III and IV in CKD and Renal transplant but also several investigations carried out by the Transplant and Autoimmunity research group IDIVAL.
