Objetivos del proyecto
General objective To study the outcome of K. pneumoniae infections in kidney recipients treated with fosfomycin and the impact of LLFR and pH in the outcome of these infections Specific objectives 1. To study the incidence, phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of lower urinary tract infections by K. pneumoniae, susceptible or with low level resistance to fosfomycin, in KTR. 2. To analyze the clinical and microbiological evolution of lower UTI by K. pneumoniae in KTR treated with fosfomycin, according to the urinary pH. 3. To analyze the development of high resistance mutants after the treatment with fosfomycin in patients with lower UTI by LLFR K. pneumoniae strains. 4. To study the mutations in LLFR and fosfomycin-resistant mutants by whole genome sequencing. 5. To study the microbiological efficacy and development of high level resistance mutations after treatment with fosfomycin in a murine model of ITU by K. pneumoniae susceptible to fosfomycin and with LLFR and its relationship with urinary pH.
